Jacob Benjamin "Jake" Gyllenhaal was born 19 December 1980. He is an American actor. Son of director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Dryer Gyllenhaal began acting at age ten. He received critical acclaim and an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor nomination as Jack Twist in the film Brokeback Mountain opposite Heath Ledger.


Internationally viewed as a sex symbol was Gyllenhaal was named one of People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People" in 2006.

Looks like Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal are hitting it off ... with other people! The former was seen on a hot date with Garrett Hedlund, reports say.

"It was their first time going out," a source tells Us Weekly of Swift's April 1 evening out in Nashville with the Tron: Legacy and Country Strong star.

"They've been emailing for a while, and she hinted they should get together."

Sources say that despite an obviously strong connection, Taylor is taking things slowly after a fast-track romance and breakup with Jake Gyllenhaal last fall.

Speaking of Jake, he's been spotted out with 90210 star Jessica Lowndes. Yeah, the chick stuck playing Adrianna on the CW's mediocre remake of the hit.

As long as they're both happy. Too bad Jay Leno didn't ask Taylor about this during her visit last night. Probably would've resulted in more blank stares.

Jake Gyllenhaal flashes a smile at the Elle 17 Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute held at The Four Seasons Hotel Monday, October 18 in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 29 year old acted Burberry used to Soiree, where he chatted with Hilary Swank and was also seen to represent images with Gwyneth Paltrow.  Jake has recently talked about the age of 30 at the end of the year.

"I feel more like myself. I feel now, it's just the beginning," he said. "I think you get to a point at 30 or somewhere and you say," What I do know what I am and that's what I get to be, and that's all good.  I do not need to be anything else   "And that’s kind of how I feel.”
